Welcome to Math! This course aims to strengthen students’ problem-solving skills with math 
tools that they likely already learned at school. We will play math games, go through math concepts, and do math contest problems. The math concepts we will cover are from Volume 1 of AMC (American Mathematics Competitions) 8 Preparation by mymathcounts.com. We will use math contest problems both from this book and from past AMC 8 contests as well as past MOEMS (Math Olympia for Elementary and Middle School Students) and the Math League Contests. 

The elementary school level (grade 3-6) students in this class will be entered into the MOEMS (Math Olympia for Elementary and Middle School Students) contests as a team. We do not have a team for the middle school division of MOEMS or for other math contests. Course Learning Goals:

Course Supplies (will be supplied):
Pen or Pencil 
Notebook to use as scratch paper.
Three ring binder to hold course materials (for students new to this class)
There is no need to buy book. I will provide printouts of questions and solutions.
